The Advanced Bike Course is open to any Motorcyclist who holds a full valid UK mortorbike licence.

You may be a new rider looking to take your skills to the next level, or a more experienced rider seeking to fine tune your abilities.

Advanced rider training will give you the tools to become a better, safer rider.
Through the IAM Roadsmart training programme you will develop riding skills using one to one observed rides by qualified Observers.

You will gain and develop observation and control skills which will help you to anticipate hazards.

You will also develop techniques of bike control that will enable you to ride with confidence and enjoyment, making the most of your bike’s capabilities.
By becoming an IAM Roadsmart Advanced Rider you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have achieved recognition as one of the safest, most skilled and capable riders on the road.
On successfully passing the test you will become a full member of both IAM Roadsmart and the Inverness group. You will be encouraged to play an active part of the group by becoming an observer.

Cost: £149, which includes the associate’s handbook, the test fees and membership to both the local group for 1 year, and IAM Roadsmart.

Many other benefits are available which may include discounts on insurance and other motoring organisations.

See for further details.

A fee of £10 is payable on each run to cover fuel costs for the observers.
